Part-time Youth Ministry Director - Christ UMC, Warner Robins

Christ United Methodist Church is a casual, traditional church with a diverse, growing, loving congregation who believe that a healthy and vibrant Youth Ministry is essential to our continuing to make disciples. We are excited for the future and eager to support the Director of Youth Ministry and our Youth Ministry. Purpose of the Director of Youth Ministry: To invest in families connected to Christ United Methodist through partnering with parents and influencing students to grow in love with God. We envision this position focusing their energy in connecting with students to encourage and equip them in their journey with Christ. This primarily occurs through directing our Youth ministry and leading our weekly programs for youth (6th grade through 12th grade). Reporting Relationships: The Director of Children’s Ministry will be supported and encouraged by the Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC). The SPRC is ultimately responsible in evaluating the success of this position. On a day to day basis this position will report to and be supervised by the Senior Pastor. The Director of Youth Ministry will collaborate with our Youth Ministry Volunteer Leadership to refine vision and strategy. Essential Responsibilities and Tasks: • Oversee all programming and ministry for youth • Create environments, activities, and programming for age groups that will facilitate learning and encourage spiritual growth • Recruit, train, schedule, and prepare resources for Youth Ministry volunteer leaders • Maintain budget pertaining to Youth Ministry programming • Plan and oversee special events for families with youth • Meet regularly with Youth Ministry Volunteer Leadership and Pastor to discuss and implement the ministry strategy and effectiveness • Other duties as assigned Expectations and Requirements: • Be a disciple of Jesus • Support the church’s mission and the ministries of our church • Have cooperative and healthy relationship with staff and congregation • Use appropriate judgment in the areas of discretion, sensitivity and confidentiality • Complete assigned tasks on deadline and within budget • Strong computer skills and technology to utilize MS Word, Excel, and multimedia resources and the ability to learn and utilize other programs that are essential to completing ministry task • Continue to grow and develop ministry calling and skills Compensation and Benefits: • Salaried Position: Pay based on experience • Each Calendar Year: two Sundays off for personal time Hours (Expected Weekly Hours: 14-18 Hours a week): Sunday Morning Program: 3 Hours on Campus Sunday Evening Program: 3 Hours on Campus Weekly Programming Preparation: 4 Hours Making Contacts and Connections with Families (Students & Parents): 1 Hour Regularly Scheduled Office Hours (to meet with Staff, families, etc): 2 Hours Leadership Development (with Volunteers): 1 Hour Send resumes to admin@christunited.net
